Taman Negara Sungai Relau is located in Merapoh, Kuala Lipis, Pahang. This 2nd gateway to Taman Negara is open to public since 1993 and about 244km from Kuala Lumpur. You can reach there by bus, train, chartered transfer or self drive.

Option 1 – By Bus

Merapoh is located along the route of Kuala Lumpur to Kota Baru, Kelantan. There are many public bus providers operate on daily basis. Therefore, getting there by bus is a most preferrable choice among many travelers.

Normally, tourists of the well-known Pulau Perhentian are using the same bus services from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Baru before they proceed to the islands. Many of them take the opportunity to stop at Merapoh and visit Taman Negara Sungai Relau, on their journey.

Option 2 – By Train

* Currently train is not in service

Train is popular among the travelers from Singapore. You can drop off at Gua Musang Train Station. Before reaching Gua Musang, the train may stop at Merapoh upon your request (normally for group) and subject to the authority discretion.

If you come from Kuala Lumpur, you can connect the train to Merapoh or Gua Musang at Gemas Train Station.

Option 3 – Chartered Transfer (By Car/Van/Bus)

This is the choice for a convenient journey. You can choose either by car, van, or bus. It depends on your group size. There are few operators providing these services and we require minimum 14 days booking confirmation from the tour date.

Option 4 – Self Drive

Self-drive is the best option if you enjoy driving. Along the way, you are passing through towns, villages, forest, rivers etc. Take this opportunity to see the Malaysian culture and a short break to taste the Malaysian delicacies. During fruits season, you can buy tropical fruits such as durians, rambutans, jackfruits and etc. at the roadside stalls.

The 244 km journey from Kuala Lumpur to Merapoh takes about 3.5 hours. From Merapoh, another 10 km you will reach Taman Negara Sungai Relau.
